Investigators said a sleeper bus stopped near the bus stand. The woman told police that she approached a man standing near the vehicle to ask for the time. She alleged that the man gestured for her to come closer and then pulled her inside the bus.

Police said the woman later alleged that two men assaulted her inside the moving vehicle as it travelled several kilometres towards Nangloi.

Woman later contacted police

Officials said the bus eventually stopped near Nangloi Metro station, where the accused allegedly abandoned the woman.

After the incident, she contacted police, who reached the location and began the investigation. Authorities said the survivor underwent a medical examination at Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered under gang rape charges and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
