Postmortem report reveals cause of death
Prateek Yadav died due to “cardiorespiratory collapse due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism", according to the autopsy findings, as per Hindustan Times.
The report stated that parts of the heart and pulmonary thromboembolic material were preserved in formalin for histopathological examination, while visceral samples were kept for chemical analysis.
The report also noted that all injuries found on his body were “antemortem”, meaning they had occurred before death. Pulmonary thromboembolism is considered a serious medical condition in which blood clots block blood vessels in the lungs, affecting breathing and blood circulation.
Doctors rushed after the condition deteriorated
Civil Hospital director Dr GP Gupta said authorities were informed about Prateek’s deteriorating condition around 5 am. A medical team was immediately sent to his residence in Lucknow.
“When the doctors reached there, his condition appeared critical. He was brought to the hospital, and despite all efforts by the medical team, he was declared dead at 5.55 am,” Gupta said, as per Hindustan Times.
Hospital sources said he was brought to the Civil Hospital at around 5.30 am. Earlier, officials had said the exact cause of death would only be confirmed after the postmortem examination.
Health issues and treatment
Reports said Prateek Yadav was dealing with lung-related health issues for some time and was undergoing treatment for blood clot-related complications. He had reportedly been admitted to a private hospital in Lucknow a few weeks earlier before returning home after his condition improved.
