Suspicion towards his wife pushed a man into a violent rage, leading to a horrific attack on his own family.
In Mumbai, a father has been accused of slashing his 14-year-old daughter’s throat with a blade while she was asleep. Hearing her daughter's desperate screams, the mother rushed in, only to be attacked as well. The accused slashed her stomach before fleeing the scene. Police later arrested him, and charges have been filed. Both mother and daughter are now admitted to the hospital and receiving treatment.

The accused, identified as Hanumant Sonawale, is alleged to remain intoxicated for most of the day and does not engage in any work. He had a heated argument with his wife shortly before the attack, during which their teenage daughter was sleeping in the adjacent room. Moments after the quarrel, Hanumant entered the girl’s room and attacked her. When his wife, Rajshri, came running after hearing the child’s screams, he assaulted her too. He then escaped, but was arrested soon after.
Police sources said Hanumant frequently fought with his wife, driven by constant suspicion of her having an extramarital relationship. Rajshri, unable to cope with the ongoing abuse, had recently filed for divorce, which reportedly pushed Hanumant into deeper frustration. According to officials, the investigation is underway.
Both victims are currently being treated at Kandivali’s Shatabdi Hospital. Hospital authorities stated that the 14-year-old girl required five stitches on her throat, and the mother continues to receive care for her injuries.
