His mind wasn't on his studies. Board exams were approaching. So the teacher had scolded the class nine student about his studies. The student couldn't accept this scolding in front of the entire class. So he straight away pulled out a gun and pointed it directly at the teacher's head. Instantly, panic spread in the classroom following this incident.
This incident occurred on Saturday in Kendrapara, Odisha. Police were immediately informed. Odisha Police arrested the 14-year-old boy along with the loaded gun. They said the class nine student was presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. He has been ordered to be sent to a hostel-cum-observation home and a special home.

According to police sources, the student was from a government high school. The headmaster had disciplined him for continuous poor results and indiscipline over a long period. Besides, teachers had reportedly scolded the minor for neglecting his studies and creating trouble in the classroom. After this, the student pulled out a revolver and threatened to shoot.
A police official said that the Police are interrogating the minor's parents and relatives about how he obtained the firearm. The country-made revolver has been seized. They are also searching the student's room.
