A cheetah cub died after being hit by a vehicle. The incident took place on Sunday morning in the Gwalior area of Madhya Pradesh.
According to forest department and police sources, two cheetah cubs had escaped from Madhya Pradesh's Kuno National Park on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, one of them died after getting hit by a vehicle near Ghatigaon on the Agra-Mumbai National Highway, at the border of Gwalior and Shivpuri districts.
Forest department sources revealed that the male cheetah cub that died was only 20 months old.

Gwalior zone police IG Arvind Saxena informed that the two cheetah cubs had separated from their mother and left Kuno National Park. The vehicle that hit and killed one cheetah cub could not be identified.
Officials said the other escaped cheetah cub is still missing and roaming in the nearby area. A search is underway to recover it. After learning that the cheetah cub is moving around in that area, the speed of all vehicles on the national highway has been reduced.
Notably, on Friday itself, the body of a cheetah cub was recovered from the Kuno National Park area. On Thursday, mother cheetah Veera and her two cubs were released in Kuno's protected area. Immediately after the release, the body of a 10-month-old cub was recovered. Officials are investigating the cause of its death.
