Delhi to face 48-hour water cut from Feb 25: Here is the full list of areas affected

Delhi Jal Board has announced a two-day water supply disruption from February 25 to 27 due to interconnection work at Dwarka WTP. Residents have been advised to store water.

Several parts of Delhi will experience a 48-hour water supply disruption beginning Wednesday, February 25, as the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) undertakes critical interconnection work. The civic agency has urged residents in affected areas to store adequate water in advance and assured that water tankers will be deployed to ease inconvenience during the shutdown.

Why is the water supply being disrupted?

According to the Hindustan Times, the interruption is necessary to connect a newly laid 1500 mm diameter twin raw water pipeline and separate it from the existing twin raw water main of the Dwarka Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Bhagya Vihar.

The shutdown will begin at 11 am on February 25 (Wednesday) and continue until 11 am on February 27 (Friday), amounting to a full 48-hour disruption. The board stated that the work is part of infrastructure strengthening measures aimed at improving long-term water distribution efficiency.

Areas that will be affected

The disruption will impact a wide swathe of localities, particularly in West and Southwest Delhi. The affected areas include: Dwarka Sub City, Mahavir Enclave, Vijay Enclave, Uttam Nagar group of colonies, Pochanpur, Bharthal, Amberahi village, Madhu Vihar, Sagar Pur, Kailash Puri, Durga Park, Mangla Puri, Raj Nagar Phase I & II, Bagdola village, Bijwasan, Dhulsiras, Binda Pur, Sewak Park, Bharat Vihar, Sita Puri, Raja Puri, Jiwan Park, Indra Park, Milap Nagar and Chanakya Place, Arjun Park, Laxmi Vihar, Bajrang Enclave, Maksudabad, Naya Bazar, Vijay Park, Sai Baba Enclave, Nangli Sakrawati village & Extension, Ranaji Enclave, Shyam Vihar group of colonies, Dharampura group of colonies, Roshanpura group of colonies, Deenpur village, Matiala, Palam, Viswas Park, Sadh Nagar Part I & II, Nanhey Park, Bamnoli village, Shahbad Mohammadpur village, Kapashera village, IGI Airport and ICCC (Yashobhumi), Najafgarh Town and adjoining areas.

Relief measures and advisory

The Delhi Jal Board has said that water tankers will be stationed at designated centres in affected localities. Residents can contact the listed helpline numbers to request tanker services during the disruption period.

Authorities have strongly advised households, commercial establishments and institutions in the affected areas to store sufficient water to manage daily needs during the 48-hour window.

The DJB maintains that the interconnection work is essential for improving the capital’s water infrastructure. Residents in the affected zones are encouraged to plan and rely on tanker services where necessary as the city navigates the scheduled two-day shutdown.
