'Entire world wholeheartedly praised India's potential': PM Modi on AI Impact Summit's 'historic' success

The summit saw the presence of international leaders, policymakers and technocrats who met to discuss the future of AI and its impact on global development

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the growing AI capabilities in India received widespread appreciation at the recently-concluded AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi. The summit saw the presence of international leaders, policymakers and technocrats who met to discuss the future of AI and its impact on global development.

PM highlights global recognition

Sharing his thoughts on X, the Prime Minister emphasised the international response to India's technological progress. "The entire world wholeheartedly praised India's potential at the historic AI Summit held in Delhi. This demonstrates that the mindset of our young talents in technology is going to be of great benefit to all of humanity," Modi wrote in Hindi.

His remarks came shortly after the summit concluded with a joint declaration aimed at strengthening cooperation in artificial intelligence.

New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact

The AI Impact Summit concluded with the adoption of the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact by 89 countries and international organisations. This declaration marks the beginning of a collective commitment to use artificial intelligence for economic and social welfare purposes.

Organized around the theme "Sarvajan Hitay, Sarvajan Sukhay" (welfare for all, happiness of all), the summit promoted an inclusive approach to technological development that benefits people while protecting the planet.

Global participation at the summit

Several prominent international leaders attended the event, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, French President Emmanuel Macron and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Swiss President Guy Parmelin and senior executives from leading global technology companies were also present.

The summit also saw participation from regional leaders such as Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Disanayaka, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Croatia Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic, Seychelles Vice President Sebastien Pillay, Estonia President Alar Karis and Finland Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.

A gathering of global AI stakeholders

More than 500 prominent personalities in the field of AI attended the summit, including CEOs, founders, academics, researchers, and technology executives. The summit also witnessed the participation of over 100 government officials and close to 60 ministers and deputy ministers.

The discussions that took place were focused on how to increase collaboration, innovation, and the establishment of India as an emerging hub for the development of artificial intelligence.
