Friday night, April 3, brought relief to Delhi from the heat with heavy rains lashing the city. The situation is expected to worsen on Saturday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted thunderstorms and lightning.

A morning with cloudy skies will be followed by an increase in weather activity later in the day. The chances of thunderstorms with showers and strong winds blowing at times are predicted in the afternoon and evening sessions. The weather may seem pleasant in comparison to recent days' heat, but humidity will persist.

The highest temperatures for Saturday, April 4, will be 29C, whereas the lowest will be 18C. Night rain might make the weather a little cooler. Wind speeds are expected to remain around 5 km/h during the day but may increase significantly during storm activity.

Alerts issued across Delhi

The weather department has raised an orange warning for the regions of South, Central, and New Delhi, indicating the need for preparedness. Meanwhile, a yellow warning is raised for the southwest, west, and northeast portions of the region, advising citizens to keep themselves updated about their surroundings.

Strong winds during thunderstorms may reach speeds of 30 to 50 km/h, raising concerns over safety, especially due to the risk of falling branches or loose debris.
