India’s Got Latent is making headlines once again, but this time for a decision that has delighted the creator community. Comedian Samay Raina has announced that YouTubers can freely create reaction videos using publicly available episodes of India’s Got Latent Season 2 without fearing copyright strikes from his channel.

The announcement comes after the first episode of the new season, featuring actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, crossed 44 million views on YouTube within days of its release. The move signals Samay’s attempt to rebuild and expand the show's digital ecosystem after a turbulent period that saw the original series disappear from the platform.

Samay Raina invites creators to react freely

Sharing the update on Instagram Stories, Samay clarified that creators would not face any copyright-related obstacles while using clips from the show.

He also mentioned that technical glitches experienced by some viewers had been addressed.

“Quick Update. We have fixed the sound issues that some people faced on YouTube. Anybody from the YouTube community is free to react to India’s Got Latent public YouTube episodes. There will be no copyright issues from my channel. Enjoy,” he wrote.

The decision has been welcomed by content creators, many of whom rely heavily on reaction videos, analysis content and pop culture discussions to engage audiences.

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari become the season's first big guests

The opening episode of Season 2 featured Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, who appeared on the show to promote their upcoming action film Alpha.

Following the episode's success, Samay publicly thanked both actors for embracing the unpredictable format of the programme.

In a heartfelt note, he praised their humility and willingness to participate in a platform known for its spontaneous and often chaotic humour.

The appearance also generated several viral moments, including behind-the-scenes footage where Alia revealed she had binge-watched Latent episodes during a flight.

The actor jokingly admitted that she laughed so loudly while watching the show that she almost woke up her daughter Raha, who was sleeping beside her.

A fresh start after a major controversy

Season 2 represents a significant comeback for India’s Got Latent after the controversies that surrounded its previous run.

Earlier, remarks made by influencer Ranveer Allahbadia during an episode sparked widespread criticism and multiple FIRs against several participants, including Samay Raina himself.

The backlash eventually prompted Samay to remove all episodes of the original season from YouTube.

This new season appears to be a deliberate reset, with simultaneous releases on Netflix and YouTube and a more community-driven approach to content sharing.

By allowing creators to freely engage with the show, Samay seems determined to transform India’s Got Latent from a standalone programme into a collaborative digital phenomenon that thrives across platforms rather than being confined to one channel.
