Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Tuesday appointed investigative journalist Saurav Das as its chief spokesperson, alongside political researcher and filmmaker Vijeta Dahiya and former management consultant Ashutosh Ranka as spokespersons, as it gears up for a planned protest in Delhi on June 6.

The organisation said the three would speak on its behalf to the public and media as it looks to expand its footprint ahead of the demonstration.

CJP outlines its new public voice

In its post on X, the outfit said Das would lead the communications team, while Dahiya and Ranka would also represent the movement. CJP said it was “committed to changing the political discourse of India,” framing the appointments as part of a broader attempt to bring in a new generation of voices.

Das, according to the party, has reported on legal, judicial and social issues and took part in the anti-pollution protests at India Gate in November 2025.

Diverse paths, one political brief

The party’s profile notes that Dahiya is a writer, content creator and filmmaker who has worked in research and content for YouTube creators, including Dhruv Rathee, while Ranka is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and the London School of Economics and previously worked with McKinsey & Company in London.

CJP said Dahiya has authored the books Power of Universe and To Hell With That Job and directed the Haryanvi films Dararen and Opri Parai. It also said Ranka returned to India in 2025 and has since been involved in public campaigns in Jaipur focused on environmental, educational and youth issues.

The drumbeat before the Delhi gathering

The appointments come as founder Abhijeet Dipke prepares for a protest linked to allegations of irregularities and paper leaks in CBSE, NEET and CUET examinations, with CJP saying a press conference would be held in Delhi to share details of the protest plan.

The Telegraph reported that Dipke has announced a peaceful protest seeking the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak and lapses in the CBSE system.

Das, after joining the outfit, said: “There comes a moment when the young of a nation realise they are angry...” while Ranka echoed support for the slogan “Inquilaab zindabaad.”
