The injury woes for the Chennai Super Kings have been increasing day by day, and Jamie Overton is the newest inclusion in that list. The English tall man has played one of the finest 12 matches for the CSK, which led the yellows to bring Dian Forrester as a replacement.
This marks Chennai's eighth injury since 2025, leaving a player unavailable for the entire season. The bad-luck fiasco began with the injury to captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, which led CSK to appoint Mahendra Singh Dhoni as captain once again. After that, Chennai Gurjapneet Singh and Vansh Vedi got ruled out. However, Chennai Super Kings used the opportunity and brought in the stars who straightaway became the core of the CSK team.
This year, Chennai has tried to address all its problems and built a new look squad with a template that Chennai does not follow. But again, injuries created a gap that stopped Chennai from getting the momentum with their squad.
Here is the list of players who got injured for the Chennai Super Kings since the 2025 season
Ruturaj Gaikwad- In the 2025 season, Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of Chennai Super Kings, faced an elbow injury, and that led the management to bring back MS Dhoni as captain. Ayush Mhatre replaced him for the season and empowered the new-look Chennai Super Kings with beautiful batting.
Gurjapneet Singh- The left-hand fast bowler, was ruled out of the 2025 season with a groin injury, and that led Chennai to replace him with Dewald Bravis, who later became one of the important pillars of the squad.

MS Dhoni- The supremo of Chennai Super Kings, battled with a calf injury in the entire 2026 season and has not been able to play any match this year.

Ayush Mhatre- The young star and U-19 World Cup-winning captain played an important role in the recent success of Chennai Super Kings and evolved as one of the crucial players for the yellow army. Ayush Mhatre has unfortunately been ruled out for the rest of the IPL 2026 season due to a severe tear in his left hamstring. The 18-year-old batter for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) sustained the injury on April 18 during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Jamie Overton- The tall Englishman has been ruled out for the remainder of IPL 2026 due to a right thigh injury and has returned to the United Kingdom for further medical assessment. Before his untimely exit, the English all-rounder was a standout performer for the Chennai Super Kings, scoring 136 runs and taking 14 wickets in 10 matches.
