Across the world, companies are finding it hard to hire skilled tech workers. There is strong demand for software developers, data experts, cybersecurity specialists, and AI engineers. But there are not enough trained people to fill these jobs. The World Economic Forum has warned about growing global skill gaps, especially in fast-changing digital fields. LinkedIn's Global Talent Trends reports have also highlighted how tech roles remain among the hardest positions to fill.
Hiring has become more complex in recent years. Candidates now expect higher pay, remote work options, and faster hiring processes. Many companies struggle to meet these expectations. At the same time, new technologies are changing job requirements very quickly. This makes it harder for recruiters to find people with the right skills. As a result, tech recruitment remains a major global challenge.
At the same time, tech giants such as Microsoft, NVIDIA, TCS, and Wipro have recruited students from KIIT, offering packages of up to Rs. 51 lakh per annum, with Microsoft leading the list. But in such a competitive market, how can you actually land a tech job?
How to land a tech job in a tough market
Getting a tech job today is not easy. So you must prepare well. First, make a clear and detailed CV. Keep it short. Write about your skills, projects, and internships. Show what you have built and what tools you used. Companies like to see real work. Add certifications or hackathon experience if you have them.
Also, improve your LinkedIn profile. Use a good photo and write a short, strong summary. List your skills clearly. Connect with seniors, teachers, and recruiters. Share your projects on GitHub or a portfolio site. Keep learning new skills that companies need. And practice for interviews. Work on coding, problem-solving, and speaking clearly.
