Absentism of Bangladeshi players in the IPL remains a recurring episode. No player has ever played for an entire IPL season. Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman was picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders in this year's auction, but the episode has continued. After joining KKR for ₹9.20 crore, he will not be able to play for the entire season.
What had the Bangladesh Cricket Board promised?
Before the IPL auction, the Bangladesh Cricket Board had informed Cricbuzz that they would give NOC to all players for the IPL. After that, only one among all the Bangladeshi players got a team in the mini auction. KKR picked Mustafizur Rahman for ₹9 crore 20 lakh. Right after this, BCB changed its stance.

BCB's new announcement
On Thursday, BCB announced that they will play two Tests and three ODIs against Pakistan. This series will be played in two parts. One part will be played before the Pakistan Super League, and the other will be after the tournament. On this, BCB's Cricket Operations Chairman Nazmul Abedeen said that for the series, Mustafizur will not be able to play for eight days in the IPL. However, it won't be for the Pakistan series; Mustafizur will take an eight-day break from the IPL for the New Zealand series. Nazmul told Cricbuzz, "We have given Mustafizur NOC for the entire IPL. But he will join the Bangladesh team for only eight days. He will play three matches there."
The number of matches KKR will have within those eight days is not known. That will be known after the final schedule of the IPL is announced. Now the question arises, if Mustafizur gets injured after leaving the IPL for three matches, then who will take responsibility, as KKR will be affected.
