Although the draft voter list has been published, speculation has begun about when the hearing will start. According to sources from the state's CEO office, there is no possibility of the hearing work starting before Christmas. CEO Manojkumar Agarwal has informed that the hearing may start from December 26 or 27.

According to the commission's guidelines, if any voter has to be called for a hearing, they must be summoned through a notice. The BLO of the concerned booth will go and deliver that hearing notice to the voter's home. That is, a hard copy of the notice will reach the voter's home. However, there is also confusion about when the notice will reach the voters' homes.

However, on Friday, the state's Chief Electoral Officer Manojkumar Agarwal informed that initially about 32 lakh voters, whose linkage with the 2002 list could not be matched, will be given notices and called for hearing. The commission believes that if everything goes well, delivery of hearing notices from house to house will start from tomorrow itself. Since screening is still ongoing for the 1 crore 36 lakh voters who are on the 'Logical Discrepancies' list, the commission is proceeding with the path of sending notices after careful screening and selection. However, voters will not be called for hearing before Christmas.

A senior official of the state's CEO office has informed that the state's CEO office is considering appointing about 4000 micro observers. Senior officials of the state's CEO office also sat in a meeting regarding this appointment on Friday evening. According to commission sources, the state's CEO office is planning to appoint micro-observers by Saturday. Central government employees will supervise the hearing phase.
