India's U-19 team has reached the finals of the Asia Cup after defeating the Sri Lanka U-19 team in the semi-finals. The match was reduced to twenty overs due to a wet outfield that delayed the start. India have displayed their masterclass throughout the tournament, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the first match against UAE, Aaron George against Pakistan, and Abhigyan Kundu against Malaysia, showcasing high-quality temperament throughout.

Batting first, Sri Lanka has posted a fighting total of 138 runs on the board, losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Vimath Dinsara and Chamika Heenatigala played quality innings of 32 and 42 runs each. Sethnika Seneviratne’s cameo of 30 runs helped Sri Lanka to post a fighting total against India’s economical bowling.

Kanishk Chouhan and Henil Patel grabbed two wickets. Deepesh, Khilan and Kishan took one wicket each.

Aaron George and Vihaan Malhotra outplayed Sri Lanka

For India, Aaron George played the anchor role, scoring 58 runs in 49 balls. His run fest has not stopped from the first match; it seems like in every game, he is developing himself as a better batter. His 58 runs in 49 balls showed great class and resilience, and his approach towards the run chase showed his temperament. Meanwhile, Vihaan Malhotra played a quick innings of 61 runs in 45 balls with a strike rate of 135.56.

India won the match with 8 wickets as the Sri Lankan bowlers were only able to take two wickets. Rasith Nimsara grabbed both the Indian openers. Ayush Mhatre’s bad patch continues, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi lost his wicket to Rasith.

It’s been a good tournament so far for the Indian team; in every match, someone stood up and took the responsibility. Aaron George and Vihaan Malhotra both shared the Man of the Match trophy.

India will face Pakistan at the finals of the Asia Cup on Sunday, December 21 in Dubai.
