India lifted the Blind Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup title for the first time on Sunday, capping off an unbeaten campaign with a clinical seven-wicket win over Nepal in Colombo.

Opting to bowl first, the Indian side set the tone immediately, disciplined bowling, sharp fielding, and relentless pressure restricted Nepal to 114 for five in their 20 overs.

The chase was nothing short of dominant. India raced to 100 inside 10 overs, making the final look like a formality. Opener Phula Saren orchestrated the pursuit with a brilliant, controlled assault at the top. Her 44 runs off 27 balls, laced with four elegant boundaries and a strike rate touching 163, put India miles ahead early.

Fittingly, it was Saren who guided the side to the finish line with a crisp four to fine leg in the 13th over, sealing the title in style.

Her contribution wasn’t limited to batting; she bowled three tidy overs for 20 runs, earning her the Player of the Match award and cementing her role as the standout performer of the final. They opened by skittling Sri Lanka for 41 and chasing it down in merely three overs—thanks in part to seven run-outs from razor-sharp fielding.

Against Australia, India piled up a massive 292 for four, powered by Deepika TC’s 91 and Saren’s unbeaten 54, before rolling Australia over for 57 to win by a staggering 209 runs.

Their momentum continued with a commanding win over Pakistan, where they chased 136 in 10.2 overs through impactful knocks from Deepika and Anekha Devi. A smooth semifinal victory against Australia set up the final, and India finished the campaign with complete authority.

From bat to ball to fielding, India outperformed every opponent at every stage—making their first Blind Women’s T20 World Cup triumph as emphatic as it was historic.
