Smriti Mandhana’s wedding postponed indefinitely after her father suffers heart attack

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding with composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely after her father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack during the wedding preparations in Sangli.

The highly anticipated wedding of Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been put on hold indefinitely after an unexpected and distressing development within the Mandhana family.

According to Smriti’s business manager, Tuhin Mishra, Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack while preparations were underway at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli.

The couple was set to tie the knot on November 23 in the presence of close family members, friends, and fans in Sangli, Maharashtra. Many members of the Indian women’s cricket team, fresh off their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 victory, had also joined in the celebrations.

In the days leading up to the ceremony, social media was filled with glimpses of their vibrant, Bollywood-style pre-wedding events. From spirited bride-vs-groom friendly cricket matches to lively Haldi and Mehendi festivities, the celebrations reflected joy, colour, and camaraderie.

Smriti’s teammates: Jemimah Rodrigues, Radha Yadav, Shafali Verma, Arundhati Reddy, Shivali Shinde, and Richa Ghosh had also gathered to share in the couple’s happiness.

Her manager confirms to PTI that the wedding has been postponed. He stated, “Smriti Mandhana’s father was not feeling well since this morning. He was rushed to a hospital in Sangli, and he is currently under observation while various tests are being conducted.”

The situation escalated quickly when Srinivas Mandhana had a heart attack amid the wedding preparations. Smriti and her immediate family rushed to the hospital as soon as the news reached them, sources close to the family shared.

Though the family remains deeply shaken, a small measure of relief comes from the update that Mr. Mandhana’s condition is currently stable and being closely monitored.
