India is set to face South Africa in the fourth match of the T20 series. A win in this match will secure the series victory. However, there is disappointing news for the Indian team and cricket fans even before the match begins. Vice-captain Shubman Gill has been ruled out of this match due to injury. He sustained a foot injury during practice before the match. Therefore, he is being rested for this match. Moreover, it is understood that Shubman's participation in the final match of the series is also uncertain.

The board's medical team has advised Shubman to take a rest. Once the scan and other medical test reports are received, the severity of his injury will be known. He was not seen on the field with the rest of the squad members before Wednesday's match at Ekana Stadium either. A member of the Indian team management has spoken about this matter.

He said, "Shubman sustained a foot injury during batting practice. It doesn't seem very serious right now, but we'll know for certain once we get the scan report. Moreover, injuries take longer to heal due to North India's weather conditions. That's why he has been rested for this match. A decision about whether he will play in the final match in Ahmedabad will be taken later."

Indian all-rounder Axar Patel was ruled out of the series due to injury even before the third match. Bengal's Shahbaz Ahmed has joined the team in his place. Now Shubman's name has been added to the list of injured cricketers. Notably, he could not play in the second Test and ODI series due to injury. He had returned after recovering from injury for the T20 series. Now he has been ruled out of that as well.

However, the BCCI has not yet provided any official update on this matter. Sanju Samson may get a chance in the playing eleven in place of Shubman for the fourth match.
