IPL auction 2026: Meet uncapped players set to be the biggest talking points

IPL Auction 2026 could see uncapped Indian talents earn big as teams chase youth, pace, and power.

The IPL auction 2026 is all set to be held on Tuesday in Abu Dhabi. A total of 350 players will go under the hammer. As per the IPL Governing Council, a total of 1390 players registered for the Player Auction, out of which 350 players were shortlisted; 240 Indian and 110 are overseas players make the list strong in which 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players are also listed.

From Tilak Varma to Deepak Chahar from Pawan Negi to Priyansh Arya, IPL always becomes a path for talents to meet opportunity. Time by time the scouts of the IPL teams produced new talents, from Hardik Pandya to Jasprit Bumrah is also a result of that scouting.

The Indian uncapped player category reflects India’s strong cricketing infrastructure and also reflects India’s strong bank of players.

As, on Tuesday the showdown will begin, a few Indian uncapped players can earn big in the supply and demand game.

Here is a list of uncapped players to look

Aquib Nabi (29, Jammu & Kashmir)

Auqib Nabi is a right-arm fast bowler who has been one of the most consistent performers in domestic cricket. In the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, he took 29 wickets in five matches at an average of 13.27, including a best of 7/24. Known for swinging the new ball both ways, he has multiple five-wicket hauls in first-class cricket and strong T20 returns, making him a reliable powerplay option.

Ashok Sharma (23, Rajasthan)

Ashok Sharma has emerged as a breakthrough fast bowler in the domestic season. The right-arm pacer topped the wicket charts in the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 20 wickets in eight matches, including best figures of 4/16. He regularly bowls above 140 kmph and has earned IPL trials. Having previously been part of IPL squads without playing, his recent SMAT performance has pushed his value significantly higher.

Kartik Sharma (19, Rajasthan)

Kartik Sharma is a young wicketkeeper-batter who made an immediate impact in domestic cricket. He scored a century on his Ranji Trophy debut against Uttarakhand and later became Rajasthan’s highest run-scorer in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with 445 runs at a strike rate above 118. Batting mainly at No.4, he has also impressed in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and other T20 leagues with his aggressive middle-order batting.

Tushar Raheja (24, Tamil Nadu)

Tushar Raheja is a left-handed wicketkeeper-opener known for his explosive batting at the top. He gained prominence through the Tamil Nadu Premier League, where his breakout season came in 2024. In TNPL 2025, he scored 488 runs at an average of 61 and a strike rate of 185.55, including a match-winning knock in the final. His ability to attack from ball one and keep wickets adds strong T20 value.

Abhishek Pathak (28, Madhya Pradesh)

Abhishek Pathak is an aggressive wicketkeeper-opener who has made headlines in state T20 leagues. In the Madhya Pradesh Premier League 2025, he scored 266 runs in six innings, including a century and a fifty, while striking at nearly 250. Though his Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy returns have been modest so far, his explosive batting and wicketkeeping skills make him an interesting T20 prospect for teams looking for power at the top.

Mangesh Yadav (23, Madhya Pradesh)

Mangesh Yadav is a left-handed batting all-rounder who bowls left-arm fast. In the Madhya Pradesh Premier League 2025, he picked up 14 wickets in six matches at an average of 12, including three four-wicket hauls. His left-arm pace offers variety, especially in T20 cricket. While he has not yet established himself in the state team, his wicket-taking ability in domestic leagues has brought him into contention.

Naman Tiwari (20, Uttar Pradesh)

Naman Tiwari is a young left-arm fast bowler from Uttar Pradesh who has progressed through age-group cricket. He represented India in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup and later impressed in the UPT20 league, finishing as the third-highest wicket-taker with 19 wickets in 10 matches. Capable of touching 140 kmph, he combines pace with youth. His experience as an IPL net bowler has further strengthened his profile.

Prashant Veer (20, Uttar Pradesh)

Prashant Veer is a left-arm spinning all-rounder who contributes in both departments. In the UPT20 season, he scored 320 runs and took eight wickets across 10 matches, striking at over 155. He continued his aggressive batting form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with a strike rate close to 170. Known for controlling the middle overs with the ball and scoring quickly with the bat, he offers flexibility in T20 squads.

Salman Nizar (28, Kerala)

Salman Nizar enjoyed a standout domestic year, starting with the Ranji Trophy where he scored 628 runs as Kerala reached the final. He later grabbed attention in the Kerala Cricket League, where he finished with an average of 98.67 and a strike rate of 193.46, including a spell where he hit 11 sixes across two overs. Though his SMAT returns were modest, his power-hitting remains his biggest strength.

Yash Raj Punja (19, Karnataka)

Yash Raj Punja is a tall leg-spinner from Karnataka who first came into focus as an IPL net bowler. Standing over six feet tall, he generates bounce and turns. He had a strong Maharaja Trophy season with Hubli Tigers, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker with 23 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 12.48. His height, wicket-taking ability, and age make him an attractive uncapped spin option.

The IPL auction 2026 will start from 1.30 PM.
