Choreographer Gulnaaz Khan, whose name appeared in online accusations over Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal's postponed wedding, has made a firm statement requesting people to refrain from spreading baseless rumours as the rumours continue to dominate social media.

The couple’s wedding, originally planned for November 23, was postponed following a medical emergency involving Smriti’s father, who was rushed to the hospital with chest-pain-like symptoms. Palash too was later admitted for a brief medical episode. Both have since been discharged.

“False claims”: Gulnaaz responds to cheating allegations

Following the postponement, a section of social media circulated rumours alleging that Palash had cheated on Smriti with a choreographer. Names of two dancers, Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz, associated with the Bosco dance group began appearing in viral posts.

Gulnaaz addressed the matter directly through an Instagram Story, clarifying that neither she nor Nandika had any connection to the couple’s personal issues.

She wrote: “I have noticed a lot of speculation and false claims going around about me and my friend Nandika, so let me clear this straight. We are not the people involved in this issue. Just because we know someone socially or have a photo with them doesn't mean we are connected to their personal matters. Please let’s keep things respectful and not jump to conclusions.”

This response came after days of intense speculation, much of it fueled by an anonymous Reddit post that made unverified accusations linking the two choreographers to the postponement of the wedding.

Subtle signal on the social media

After the postponement of the wedding, Smriti quietly deleted all her pre-wedding and engagement-related posts from Instagram. Her teammates who had shared moments from the celebrations also removed their related posts. Only casual pictures of the couple still remain.

More recently, both Smriti and Palash have updated their Instagram bios to include a “nazar” (evil-eye) emoji which is a move widely interpreted as a subtle message amid swirling public speculation and rumours.

Families maintain privacy

Sources close to the families have consistently maintained that the postponement was solely due to health-related reasons and not interpersonal issues. No new wedding date has been announced yet.

As speculation spreads beyond verified facts, choreographers mentioned in the rumours have reaffirmed the necessity for humility and respect on social media.
