Undefeated South Africa is all set to face unsteady New Zealand in the city of Joy, Kolkata. As the semi-final mode has already spread just like the Holi colours in India, New Zealand and South Africa will look forward to overcoming the challenges they are set to face. The first semi-final is all set to play on the pitch where Sanju Samson’s classic led India to win in the virtual quarter-final clash against the West Indies.

As South Africa has already raised the bar of expectation, New Zealand has a lot to fix to reach the finals. Other than Tim Seifert and Finn Allen, and a few blistering blows by Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips, no other batsman has come in and joined the business. The usage of Daryl Mitchell could have been handled better tonight. It will be the first major task for Captain Mitchel Santner.

Head-to-head

Historically, New Zealand and South Africa have faced each other in 19 T20Is. In which South Africa demolished the Kiwis in 12 matches, and New Zealand has won 7 matches only. Martin Guptill and AB de Villiers are leading the highest run-scoring charts, and among the present players, Tim Seifert and David Miller are among the highest run-scorers. Among the bowlers, Jacob Duffy and Kagiso Rabada are leading the chart of highest wicket takers, along with Matt Henry and Lungi Ngidi.
