The International Cricket Council has released the latest T20 International rankings during the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, reflecting major changes across batting, bowling, and all-rounder categories. India's run to the semifinals has had a visible impact on the updated standings.
Samson jumps 25 places, Abhishek stays No.1
India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson registered the biggest rise among Indian players. He moved up 25 places from 65th to 40th in the batting rankings. His rating points increased to 549 after his 97-run knock in the final Super-8 match.
Despite a modest World Cup campaign, Abhishek Sharma retained the top position in the T20I batting rankings with 874 rating points. He leads Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan, who climbed to second place with 848 points.
Farhan scored a century against Sri Lanka in the final Super-8 match at Pallekele. He became the first batter to score two centuries in a single tournament and overtook England’s Phil Salt in the rankings.
India's Ishan Kishan moved up to fourth position with 783 points, while Tilak Varma advanced to sixth with 749 points. Suryakumar Yadav slipped to seventh. South Africa's Dewald Brevis rose to eighth, while Zimbabwe's Brian Bennett climbed to 11th.

Varun leads bowlers, Indian pacers advance
In bowling rankings, India spinner Varun Chakravarthy retained the top spot with 12 wickets and an 18-point lead. Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed moved up to third position.
India pacer Jasprit Bumrah advanced to seventh, while Arshdeep Singh climbed six places to 13th.

Raza tops all-rounders
In the all-rounder rankings, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza retained the No.1 position. India's Hardik Pandya moved up to second, overtaking Pakistan's Saim Ayub. West Indies' Jason Holder climbed eight places to 11th.
The updated rankings reflect performances during the ongoing World Cup and recent T20 international fixtures.
