India’s Esha Singh created history at the ISSF World Cup in Munich after winning gold in the women’s 25m pistol event with a world-record score. The young shooter produced a sensational performance in the final, scoring 43 hits out of 50 to break the previous world record of 42.

Esha dominates the final

Esha remained calm throughout the high-pressure final despite facing some of the biggest names in world shooting. She started strongly and maintained her rhythm across every round, gradually moving ahead of the competition. Germany’s Doreen Vennekamp finished with silver, while Bulgaria’s Miroslava Mincheva secured the bronze medal.

The gold medal also marked India’s first podium finish at the ongoing Munich World Cup. More importantly, Esha’s score became both a senior and junior world record, highlighting the scale of her achievement on the international stage.

Another major milestone for India

Earlier in the qualification round, Esha had finished fifth with a score of 587 to make it into the final. While several experienced shooters struggled to maintain consistency in the medal round, the Indian shooter showed remarkable control and accuracy. Olympic champion Yang Jiin, who had topped qualification, could only finish fifth in the final standings.
