Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping industries across the world. From banking and retail to manufacturing and media, AI is helping companies work faster and smarter. Many businesses across various sectors now use AI for various services. As a result, productivity is increasing, and new job roles are also being created.

In healthcare, AI is bringing major changes. It helps doctors detect diseases earlier through smart imaging tools and data analysis. AI can study medical records to suggest better treatment plans and even assist in surgeries using robotic systems.

How is AI transforming the Indian healthcare industry?

Artificial Intelligence is being pushed strongly by the Indian government in public healthcare. Institutions like AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, and AIIMS Rishikesh have been named Centres of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence. Tools such as the Media Disease Surveillance system, the Clinical Decision Support System under eSanjeevani, and AI-based TB screening like 'Cough Against TB' are also being rolled out, as per The Week.

One major strength of AI is predictive healthcare. By analysing biomarkers and large datasets, AI can identify early risk markers. It can flag pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease risks, and even chances of pre-term birth. But for such predictions to be reliable, large population studies are essential. Strong data sets build stronger models. Without that, AI tools cannot reach their full potential, according to The Week.

India rapidly applying AI in healthcare

India is increasingly adopting artificial intelligence in healthcare, learning both from global trends and adapting them to local needs. A global 'Clinician of the Future 2025' report found that about 41 per cent of Indian clinicians now use AI tools in their work, a rate that closely matches or even exceeds use in countries like the US and UK, showing India is not just importing ideas but applying them rapidly in practice.
