WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Meta, may launch a new premium subscription service in the future. There has been speculation about such a service for many years. A recent report has claimed that WhatsApp is now working on creating an optional premium plan. With this plan, users will be able to use some additional features by paying a monthly subscription fee.
A report by WABetaInfo stated that this new plan could be called 'WhatsApp Plus'. It is being developed for both Android and iOS platforms. However, it is still in the experimental stage.

WhatsApp Plus may bring customisation and extra features
According to that report, WhatsApp Plus users will get multiple customisation options to change the app's appearance according to their preference. There may be facilities to change themes, app icons, and accent colors. Additionally, there could be a major change in chat pinning. Currently, regular users can pin a maximum of three chats. But WhatsApp Plus users may get the opportunity to pin 20 chats simultaneously. This will make it easier to keep important personal or office conversations at the top of the list at all times.
The report further stated that special ringtones may also be introduced for premium users. These ringtones will be exclusively for Plus subscribers only. Along with this, some exclusive stickers and more interactive message reaction features may also be provided.

However, the important thing is that WhatsApp will remain completely free for regular users as before. Sending messages, making voice and video calls, sharing media, using group chats, or privacy features, everything will continue to be available for free users.
Meta has not yet officially announced this premium plan. This is because it is believed to still be in the experimental stage. Besides, no information has been released yet about what the possible price of this subscription could be.
