From leading the Tata Group into global prominence to taking Tata Consultancy Services public in 2004, he paved the way for the group to further flourish.

TCS set to become the world’s largest AI-led tech service firm

Continuing Tata’s spirit of innovation, TCS is now set to become the world’s largest AI-led technology services company. The company has revealed that its AI services division has reached an annualised revenue run rate of $1.5 billion, that is Rs135,243,750,000 in Indian currency, marking a significant milestone.

AI adoption among clients is rising quickly, with 54 of TCS’s top 60 clients already using its AI solutions.

Nearly 85% of clients with deals above $20 million rely on TCS for AI work, particularly across BFSI, life sciences, and manufacturing sectors. So far, TCS has completed around 5,500 AI engagements globally with quarter-on-quarter growth of 16.3%.

A company adapting to the future

Founded in 1969, TCS has managed to adapt to a rapidly changing world. Its new global AI unit, led by Amit Kapur as Chief AI and Services Transformation Officer, will integrate all existing AI capabilities, deepen domain-specific solutions and build global partnerships. The current AI and data unit will be inculcated into this reorganised structure, showcasing a major step in how TCS delivers AI-powered technology services.
