Delta Force was first released in 1998 as a tactical shooter game made by NovaLogic for PC. It was inspired by the real US Army Delta Force unit. Players took part in military missions across different countries, using long-range weapons and careful planning. At a time when most shooter games had small maps, Delta Force stood out for its wide landscapes and realistic combat. The game became popular and led to many sequels, including Delta Force 2 and Black Hawk Down.

After many years, the franchise returned with a new version in 2025. The modern Delta Force is a free-to-play shooter developed by Team Jade and published by TiMi Studio Group. It also includes a campaign inspired by the Black Hawk Down story.
