A Delhi wedding has come into the limelight for a rather unusual reason. A full-fledged IV bar in service to treat hangovers. The video from there has garnered over seven million views within a few days.
In the video, guests in designer outfits can be seen patiently waiting as trained medical staff attach IV drips to their arms. As per a report by NDTV, the clinic said that these drips contained electrolytes and vitamin C to help guests recover during the 'mehendi' and 'sangeet'.

Guests who hadn't consumed alcohol for at least eight hours were offered glutathione. The clinic reassured viewers that safety was their top priority, with sterile, single-use needles and licensed medical personnel handling all procedures. “We just manage the symptoms of hangover and not the decisions,” said the clinic on Instagram and added, “Safety always comes first here at Skulpted.”
Are IV drips for hangovers safe?
Medical professionals, however, advise caution. Dr Brunda M S, senior consultant in internal medicine, Aster CMI Hospital, Bengaluru told India Today that IV drips channel fluids and nutrients directly into the bloodstream without the digestive process in the stomach. While they are beneficial in case of dehydration or other medical ailments, using them for convenience or lifestyle is risky, she warns.
Potential health risks highlighted
"IV drips should mainly be used for medical reasons like dehydration, illness, or weakness, not just for convenience or lifestyle needs. Using them without proper medical advice can cause side effects such as infection, vein irritation, or electrolyte imbalance," Dr Brunda said.
A nutritionist sharing the video on X wrote, “A bunch of ladies in Bandra, Mumbai did this IV drip party last year and one of them found she had Hepatitis B, a few months later while doing some routine investigations. She informed the group and 3 other ladies turned positive for the same. Pls use your brains.”
