Filmmaker-composer Palaash Muchhal and Indian women's cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana's most-anticipated marriage, scheduled for November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, was postponed at the last moment. The families have mentioned health-related emergencies as the reason for the sudden action.
Smriti's father, Shriniwas Mandhana, was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital after he experienced symptoms of a heart attack. Within a short while, Palaash was also admitted to a local hospital following a sudden health issue.

Social media changes spark speculation
Following this, Smriti quietly removed all the Instagram posts that were related to her wedding, including her engagement announcement and proposal video. The sudden removal immediately caught the attention of fans and sparked wild speculation online as many questioned the timing and the future of the couple.
Viral screenshots add controversy
Matters turned graver when an Instagram user named Mary D’Costa posted screenshots of her alleged conversations with Palaash as far back as May 2025, first on Instagram and then on Reddit. The original account from where the screenshots were posted has since been deactivated. According to him, in the conversation, he evades questions about his relationship status and instead extends an invitation to meet her.
Netizens react strongly
Reactions online on Instagram and X have predominantly favoured Smriti, as many commented that the messages were inappropriate, and they were glad the wedding was paused.
A user on X posted, “Palash Muchhal cheated on Smriti Mandhana" Yes it's f******g true, these are Screenshots of him dming a girl on Instagram. That girl exposed him right after this wedding fiasco. Going by these Screenshots it's very much clear how s*****g & cheater of a person he is!!”
Another user posted, “Palash Muchhal proved yet again that you can trust a snake but never a man I genuinely feel for Smriti Mandhana she won the World Cup, she was about to marry the love of her life and then just a day before the wedding she found out her fiance was cheating I can't even imagine the pain she must be going through.”
A reddit post has also went viral where the user wrote, "Just got to know from a sports journalist that the wedding will not happen ever. Soon to be husband palash cheated on smriti with the choreographer just a night before. Smriti has deleted all the wedding related posts. Also heard that the news - palash is also being hospitalized is given just as a cover-up because he ran away on the wedding day . One twitter account claiming to be close to mandhana family told that smriti father and groom had huge fight and cursing before the wedding night."

A user wrote, “If that palash mucchal news is actually true? boy the audacity, imagine fumbling a wc champion and the nation's crush when you don't even have a career to stand on. Embarrassing."
The only comment from an official came from Palak Muchhal, who took to Instagram and penned: “Due to Smriti's dad health Smriti and Palaash's wedding has been put on hold. Would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families in this sensitive time.”
However, neither Smriti nor Palaash have personally reacted to the situation as of yet.
