Healthcare sector sees long-term benefits
Speaking to News Ei Samay, Mr. Parthiv Neotia, Joint Managing Director of Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Ltd, said the Budget strikes a balance between economic growth and social welfare, with several measures likely to have a positive impact on healthcare outcomes across the state.
"West Bengal Budget 2026 strikes a positive note by balancing its economic agenda while retaining its social focus. Addressing employment generation, creating women-centric schemes and building social infrastructure will further drive sentiments for households and improve quality of life in the state," Neotia said.
Women-centric schemes seen as a key healthcare driver
Speaking further on the healthcare implications of the Budget, Neotia noted that measures aimed at increasing household income and strengthening social security often encourage people to seek medical care earlier and adopt preventive healthcare practices.
"Looking at it through a healthcare perspective, measures that enable better incomes and social security assist in driving early healthcare-seeking behaviour, awareness towards preventive care and better health outcomes. The focus towards women becomes extremely important as it has a direct correlation with maternal and child healthcare metrics," he added.

Budget 2026 aims for holistic and inclusive growth and is geared towards creating a positive impact on community health," he said.
The Budget's emphasis on employment, women's welfare, healthcare infrastructure and social development is expected to remain a key talking point as stakeholders across sectors assess its long-term implications for the state's economy and quality of life.
