As Baishakh nears its end, weather patterns across West Bengal are shifting again. After a brief spell of rain and gusty winds brought relief to several parts of South Bengal, including Kolkata, conditions have turned warmer over the past few days. The city woke up to bright sunshine on Wednesday, with little cloud cover in sight.
According to the Alipore Meteorological Department, Kolkata recorded a maximum temperature of 34.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, while the minimum stood at 26.8 degrees Celsius. Similar conditions are expected to continue through the day, with clear skies dominating. Rain is unlikely, and the moisture in the air makes the heat feel more intense than the actual temperature. By Friday, the mercury could climb further by around 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
Dry spell to tighten grip over South Bengal
Weather conditions across South Bengal are expected to become increasingly dry in the coming days. Rainfall activity remains unlikely at least until next weekend. Instead, temperatures are likely to inch upwards gradually, especially in the western districts where heat conditions may be more pronounced.
