Commuters on Kolkata’s Green Line Metro faced unexpected delays on Tuesday after a Howrah-bound train came to a halt just before entering Mahakaran station around 11:50 AM.
The disruption affected services on the down line towards Howrah, while trains on the up line continued to run as scheduled. Passengers reported inconvenience as the halt led to a temporary suspension of services in that direction.

Metro authorities later confirmed that operations gradually returned to normal from 12:37 PM, bringing relief to stranded commuters. In total, services remained disrupted for over 45 minutes.
Officials said the exact cause behind the sudden stoppage is yet to be determined, and an investigation is currently underway.
