BLOs have raised several complaints about the workload related to SIR, especially the persistent problems with uploading information online. The biggest obstacle in the digitisation process continues to be the server.

Based on these repeated complaints, the State Election Commission has summoned senior officials responsible for all telecom companies on Monday.

On Saturday, members of the Polling Staff and BLO Joint Forum met the State CEO with a seven-point charter of demands at the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. According to the organisation’s general secretary, Swapan Mondal, BLOs are facing severe difficulties because the server remains down throughout the day.

Often, the server becomes functional only late at night, forcing BLOs—already exhausted after long hours of fieldwork—to stay up and complete pending tasks. They formally raised this issue before the State CEO Manoj Kumar Agarwal.

According to commission sources, a meeting has been scheduled at 1 pm on Monday with senior telecom officials at the CEO’s office. The discussion will focus entirely on resolving the ongoing server crisis. The state CEO and senior officials from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office will assess how the technical problems can be fixed and how bandwidth stability can be improved.

As per commission data, digitisation of 3 crore 15 lakh enumeration forms had been completed by 6 pm on Saturday. The Election Commission aims to speed up the remaining work once Monday’s crucial meeting addresses the server issues.

Alongside this, BLOs had demanded a re-edit option in the BLO app to fix errors in enumeration forms. Although the Election Commission added the feature earlier, Swapan Mondal said the re-edit option has stopped functioning again.

This too was raised as a complaint during their meeting.
