Winter has arrived, and tourists have started coming to Maithon. The Deer Park is one of the main attractions for them. That attraction is about to end. Within a few days, DVC will send approximately 200 deer from this park to Palamau Park in Jharkhand's Hazaribag Forest Range. The Deer Park will become empty. Tourists will no longer find deer there.
DVC's Deputy General Manager at Maithon, Sukhamoy Nayak, said on Thursday, "DVC's job is to generate electricity, not to maintain a deer park. Besides, there are certain rules and regulations under the Wildlife Act, which is why the deer are being handed over to the forest department of Hazaribag."

According to sources, Jharkhand's forest department had told DVC authorities long ago that keeping deer this way is not legal.
It has been learned that this work will be completed within the next three months.
A temporary road 15 feet wide is being constructed from the Deer Park to the hydroelectric centre to transport the deer from the park adjacent to Maithon reservoir. While preparations for various decorations are underway at Maithon for Christmas and New Year for tourists, active initiatives are being taken to close the Deer Park, one of the main attractions here.
