A 26-year-old Indian-origin man has died after a stabbing incident in Southall, west London, prompting an ongoing murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
The victim, identified as Gurbhej Singh, suffered a fatal knife wound during the attack. A second man, believed to be in his 30s, was also injured and taken to the hospital. Police said he has since been discharged after receiving treatment.
Officers were called to the scene by the London Ambulance Service on Wednesday following reports of a stabbing near the junction of North Road and Dormers Wells Lane. Emergency responders found two injured men at the location. Despite efforts by paramedics, Singh could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers are currently supporting his family.

Seven detained, investigation remains active
According to investigators, the attack took place outside a shop at the junction of North Road and Dormers Wells Lane at around 12:30 am.
Seven men, ranging in age from their early 20s to late 30s, were arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the incident. Following further enquiries, six of those arrested have been released without further action. One man remains under investigation after being granted bail and is expected to return at a later date.

Detectives are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding Singh's death and have appealed for witnesses to assist with the case.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, of the Met's Specialist Crime Command, said: "Homicide detectives continue to investigate Mr Singh's tragic death and my thoughts remain with his family and loved ones."
"We believe he was assaulted outside a shop at the junction of North Road and Dormers Well Lane at around 00:30hrs. I would urge anyone with CCTV covering the area - or who was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to police - to please come forward and speak to police," Foxwell added.

Fundraiser launched for repatriation costs
Following Singh's death, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help cover expenses related to repatriation, documentation, transportation and funeral arrangements.
The fundraiser has collected 11,114 Euros through 737 donations so far, moving toward its target of 16,000 Euros.
