Tesla CEO Elon Musk again retains his position at the top of the list of the richest people globally, with a net worth of $676 billion as of December 16, 2025, according to Forbes. His next biggest competition is from Alphabet founder Larry Page, who is far behind with a net worth of $254.2 billion, less than half of Elon Musk’s net worth.

Daily earnings: How much does Musk make?

As per a report by GoBankingRates, determining the amount that Musk earns daily can fluctuate depending on the source used. However, while many sources estimated that he earns around 90 million dollars on a daily basis based on a ten-year chart of his wealth accumulation, EBC Financial Group claimed that he gained 584 million dollars on a daily basis last year. However, considering the estimates of Forbes, in which the net worth of Musk had increased from 421.2 billion dollars at the end of last year to 676 billion dollars this year, it can be estimated that he earns approximately 698 million dollars daily.

Earnings by the hour: Money while you sleep

Taking it further, he makes an estimated $29 million an hour. Taking into consideration that he is supposed to sleep for seven hours like other Americans, he earns more than $203 million an hour he is sleeping. This indicates that in one night's sleep, he earns money that most of us can’t even imagine.

The potential trillion-dollar pay package

As per the report by GoBankingRates, Musk's profits could potentially skyrocket to unheard-of altitudes with Tesla's recently approved pay deal, which reportedly values approximately $1 trillion. Upon fulfilling the lofty goals, which include the sale of one million humanoid robots, reaching the goal of securing ten million Tesla self-driving software subscriptions, and advancing Tesla's market capitalisation to $8.5 trillion, the charismatic CEO could potentially become the world's richest individual to break the trillionaire barrier. In commemoration of this momentous occasion, Musk asserted, "What we’re about to embark upon is not merely a new chapter of the future of Tesla, but a whole new book."
