US technology entrepreneur Bryan Johnson has again drawn attention after saying he is working towards extending human life indefinitely and has set 2039 as his target year.
Johnson, 48, shared the claim in a post on X, where he said his biological age had not increased over the past year despite growing older chronologically. He attributed this to a strict health routine and regular medical testing.

In the post, Johnson said the idea of living indefinitely should no longer be dismissed outright. He argued that certain organisms in nature already show signs of biological regeneration and that similar processes could one day be understood in humans. He added that while the exact method is still unknown, he believes the goal is achievable within the next 15 years.
Costly routines and constant testing
Johnson has been widely known for following an intense daily regimen that includes controlled meals, exercise, sleep tracking and continuous health monitoring. He has previously stated that the programme costs him close to $2 million annually. According to Johnson, some of his health indicators now match those typically seen in much younger individuals.
However, he has also acknowledged that not all aspects of his body reflect the same results. Johnson has said that his brain structure aligns more closely with that of someone in their early forties and that he has experienced hearing loss in one ear.
In his recent remarks, Johnson also pointed to developments in artificial intelligence as a factor that could speed up research related to ageing and medicine. He said faster data analysis and medical testing could play a role in future breakthroughs.

To reduce risk, Johnson said his team is experimenting with lab-grown organ models based on his own biology before applying any treatments to his body.
Johnson has previously made headlines for abruptly leaving a podcast hosted by Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath, citing discomfort caused by the air quality. His lifestyle choices and public statements continue to spark debate about science and the future of human ageing.
