US President Donald Trump has sounded the alarm again on America’s elections. He claims the presidential vote was marred by “manipulation” and “theft” and warns that the system has become a laughingstock on the world stage.
On Sunday, Trump called for the ‘Save America Act’ on his social media handle. He stated, “If this system is not fixed, our country will no longer exist.” Calling on Republicans to unite and fight on this issue, he demanded that a new bill be brought to the American Congress.

Trump demands strict election reforms
Trump has essentially demanded the implementation of three strict rules:
Mandatory Voter ID – Every voter must show a photo identification card when voting.
Proof of Citizenship – To register as a voter, one must appear in person and provide proof of American citizenship.
End Mail-in Ballots – The mail-in ballot system must be completely stopped except for cases of illness, special disability, military service, or travel.
Trump pushes electoral reforms amid ‘vote theft’ claims ahead of midterms
Why is Trump suddenly demanding such strict electoral reforms? The demand is not new. Even after losing to Joe Biden in the 2020 US presidential election, Trump had constructed the theory of “vote theft” and refused to accept defeat. It is alleged that his provocative comments inspired his extremist supporters to launch an unprecedented attack on the Capitol Hill building, leaving America’s democracy bloodied.

With the midterm elections scheduled for November 3 this year, political circles are asking whether Trump is trying to prepare the ground for potential setbacks. By raising alarms about “vote theft” in advance, he may be attempting to consolidate his base and influence electoral reforms before the upcoming vote.
