The United States and Iran have confirmed a peace agreement aimed at bringing an "immediate and permanent" end to military actions across multiple fronts, including Lebanon. The development marks the most significant diplomatic breakthrough since the conflict began more than three months ago and could pave the way for broader negotiations on unresolved issues between the two countries.
According to officials involved in the process, the agreement is expected to ease tensions in the region and create conditions for discussions on Iran's nuclear programme, sanctions relief and frozen Iranian assets. A formal signing ceremony is scheduled to take place in Geneva, Switzerland, on June 19.
