Muhammad Yunus's interim government of Bangladesh faced international criticism over the brutal murder of a young Hindu man named Dipu Chandra Das in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. India expressed deep concern over attacks on minorities in Bangladesh. Now, facing international criticism, Yunus hastily sent an 'envoy' to Das's home. Education Advisor Professor C. R. Abrar visited his home on Tuesday.
What did C. R. Abrar say?
Abrar said, "The state has taken responsibility for taking care of Dipu Chandra Das's parents, wife and children. Before coming here, I met with Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus. He asked me to speak with the Das family. All the family's needs will be assessed and fulfilled. Regular contact is being maintained with them through the local administration."
Yunus's response
A post was shared from Muhammad Yunus's office on X handle. It stated that there is no place in Bangladesh for violent incidents like the murder of Dipu Chandra Das. So far, 12 people have reportedly been arrested in this incident. Yunus's office added that the Bangladesh government is committed to protecting security, dignity, and equal rights for all citizens, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
