Sensex, Nifty 50 close marginally lower; Jindal Steel, Adani Power among top gainers

India's share markets ended the year slightly lower, with cautious investor moves and FII outflows impacting Sensex and Nifty.

After a full day of trading, India's share indices finished their run with a slight decline. Experts believe that cautious steps by traders were observed towards the very end of the year. Along with this, foreign investment outflow has been added. All combined, the Sensex and Nifty 50 indices took a hit, albeit very small.

On December 30, Tuesday, the BSE Sensex closed at 84,675.08 points, down 20.46 points. The NSE Nifty 50 closed at 25,938.85 points, down just 3.25 points.

According to a report by a national news media, Vinod Nair, Research Head at Geojit Investment Limited, said that despite trends in the global market, the domestic market was volatile. Overall, investors are taking very cautious steps in the final days of the year, and along with that, FII is exiting, he said.

On this day, while some stocks saw massive gains, some companies' stocks also witnessed tremendous falls.

Which stocks increased?

Jindal Steel (3.11%), Adani Power (3%), Shriram Finance (2.50%), Adani Energy Solution (2.48%), Hindalco (2.21%), Bajaj Auto (2.15%). Besides, Hindustan Copper (9.42%), Orient Tech (19.45%), and KP Green Energy (17.11%) increased significantly.

Which stocks declined?

Mazagon Dock Ship (2.95%), Solar Industries (2.46%), Bajaj Holding (2.38%), Max Healthcare (2.19%), Eternal (2.03%), Infosys (1.28%), InterGlobe Aviation (1.37%), Reliance Power (4.65%) and several other stocks.

Experts say that due to rising metal prices, several metal sector stock prices have increased, and PSU bank stock prices have risen. According to Vinod Nair, the market will remain sideways for now. Investors will keep an eye on the India-America trade agreement and third-quarter results.
