Given the commercial success of Dhurandhar and its sequel, there have been reports that movie director Aditya Dhar is all set to make a full-length BTS documentary, which is likely to release in cinemas. As reported by Hindustan Times, the upcoming film will comprise a large amount of BTS footage, along with interviews from the cast and crew members of Dhurandhar.

The movie is said to be released in theaters towards the end of the year 2026.

The Dhurandhar franchise has emerged as one of the biggest box office successes in recent years, with reports indicating that the two films together have crossed the ₹3,000 crore mark globally.

BTS as spectacle: A first-of-its-kind move

Insiders quoted in the Hindustan Times report suggest that the makers are treating the making of the film as a cinematic experience in itself. The documentary is expected to include never-before-seen footage from the sets, along with in-depth conversations with key contributors.

Lead actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal have notably stayed away from media interactions since the release of the films. According to sources, their first detailed interviews are being reserved for this documentary.

The decision is part of a broader strategy to build anticipation and ensure that exclusive content remains under wraps until the theatrical debut.

No leaks, controlled hype

The production team has reportedly taken steps to prevent any video material from being circulated on social media ahead of release. While Dhar has acknowledged his crew through online posts, he has limited these to still images, avoiding the release of any behind-the-scenes clips.

If executed as planned, the project could mark a shift in how large-scale productions monetise their creative process, turning behind-the-scenes storytelling into a standalone theatrical offering.
