The teaser of Ek Din, produced by Aamir Khan is finally here, offering the first glimpse of Sai Pallavi’s entry into the Bollywood cinemas. The film pairs her with Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s son, and is set for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
Ek Din is the Hindi adaptation of the Thai romantic drama known as 'One Day'. From the brief 68-second teaser, the film appears to be a quiet romance centred with an essence of longing and the fragile space between reality and fantasy.

A gentle romance
The teaser introduces Junaid Khan as Rohan, a young man instantly drawn to Sai Pallavi’s Meera. Their interaction unfolds with restrained dialogue and soft visuals rather than any dramatic declarations. Meera is shown questioning the idea of cinematic magic, remarking that real life is rarely like the movies we see. Rohan, however, insists that magic does exist, setting the emotional tone for what appears to be an improbable love story.
Sai Pallavi’s performance in the teaser is understated, relying on expression rather than dialogue. Known for her work in Tamil and Telugu cinema, she has built a reputation for her naturalistic performances, and Ek Din marks her first full-fledged Hindi film role.
Aamir Khan backs his son’s third project
For Junaid Khan, Ek Din will be his third film. He made his debut with Maharaj, released on Netflix, followed by the theatrical film Loveyapa in 2025. While Loveyapa drew mixed reactions, Aamir Khan has publicly defended his son’s work. In an earlier interview with News18, Aamir Khan said he was proud of Junaid’s performances and emphasised that his son was determined to build his career independently.
Ek Din has been in development even before Loveyapa reached theatres. The film is directed by Sunil Pandey, marking his directorial debut.

What’s next for Sai Pallavi?
While Ek Din introduces Sai Pallavi to Hindi film audiences, she is also set to appear later this year in Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, where she plays Sita opposite Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram. That film is expected to release on Diwali 2026.
With Ek Din, Sai Pallavi’s Hindi debut arrives in a restrained romantic drama rather than a large-scale spectacle, placing the focus firmly on performance and storytelling.
