An AI-created tribute video has managed to revive the eternal world of 'Sholay', featuring the legendary cast meeting both their younger and older versions on the iconic sets of the movie. The video is a nostalgic treat, mixing and matching the classic scenes of the movie with modern-day footage of the actors, which quickly went viral on social media platforms for its emotional and creative take.

Familiar faces, new perspectives

The video takes several classic scenes from the movie and gives them a fresh spin, featuring the characters and actors meeting different versions of themselves. One of the most emotional moments in the video features Hema Malini meeting her lively character Basanti and taking a selfie with her. Dharmendra is also shown reuniting with his beloved Veeru, including his younger version.

One of the most striking moments in the video features Amitabh Bachchan meeting his legendary Jai character, with a focus on the contrast between his past and present. Jaya Bachchan, who played Radha in the movie, is also shown sharing a quiet smile with her younger version, giving the video an emotional spin.



Villains, heroes and comic relief

The tribute also brings back other iconic characters. Amjad Khan is seen in his Gabbar Singh form meeting his older version for a casual selfie, while Sanjeev Kumar is seen posing with his younger Thakur Baldev Singh. The lighter moments from the movie are back with Asrani repeating his iconic jailer role in a fun-filled frame.

Apart from the actors, the video also brings back legendary screenwriters Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar meeting their younger versions on a recreated set, paying homage to the storytelling duo behind the movie's iconic dialogue and strength.

The video was first posted on X by a user named AP and quickly went viral. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma gave it further publicity with a witty comment about being amazed by the technology.

Released in 1975 and helmed by Ramesh Sippy, Sholay is a landmark in Indian cinema. Made on a budget of around Rs 3.5 crore and grossing over Rs 15 crore during its original release, the movie created new standards in the industry and its legacy continues to inspire new generations of filmmakers and audiences.
