Earlier, leading Bollywood film maker and producer Karan Johar had filed a defamation lawsuit against popular YouTuber Ajay Nagar, known as CarryMinati. The filmmaker of 'Student of the Year' took this drastic step over a video of CarryMinati that allegedly copied the format of ‘Koffee With Karan’ and used derogatory language. The court ruled in favour of Karan Johar and directed Ajay to exercise restraint.

Court orders deletion of ‘Koffee With Jalan’ video
Ajay had uploaded the video titled ‘Koffee With Jalan’ on his channel. Karan Johar alleged that the video copied the concept of his talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’ and contained derogatory remarks about Bollywood nepotism and about him personally.
The matter was heard before a bench headed by Justice Pandurang Bhosale. After examining the submissions, the court directed that the video be deleted and instructed Ajay to remain cautious while uploading such content in the future.
‘John Doe’ order issued over circulating clips
The ‘CarryMinati’ channel has stated that the video has already been removed. However, as several clips from the video continue to circulate on social media in the form of reels, the court has issued a ‘John Doe’ order.

The order applies not only to the channel but also to unidentified individuals involved in sharing or circulating the disputed content.
