BTS have confirmed their return with the announcement of their fifth full-length studio album, marking the group’s first major release since 2022. The new record, which is yet to be titled, will feature 14 tracks and is scheduled for release on March 20 at midnight KST.

According to the group, the album shows their journey so far and brings together their growth and personal experiences into a shared vision. The record was made during the second half of 2025, where all the members were closely involved in the songwriting and production process.

This will be BTS’ first studio album since Proof, the anthology release that became South Korea’s best-selling album of 2022.

World tour announcement set for January 14

The album release will be followed by a large-scale world tour, which BTS confirmed alongside the album announcement. Full tour details, including dates and venues, are expected to be revealed on January 14 at midnight KST.

The upcoming tour will be the group’s first in nearly four years. BTS last performed together on their Permission To Dance On Stage tour in April 2022.

Ahead of the announcement, BTS reached out directly to their global fanbase, ARMY, by sending handwritten letters through the fan platform Weverse. Each member shared a personal note thanking fans for their support during the group’s hiatus. Digital versions of the letters will be released later this month for fans who did not receive physical copies.

Group leader RM wrote, ā€œI have been waiting more earnestly than anyone else,ā€ expressing his anticipation for the comeback.

Fueling speculation ahead of the reveal, BTS also reset their official Instagram account at midnight on January 1, deleting all previous posts. As part of the comeback, BTS has also launched a new official website. Details about the album and tour will be revealed in the upcoming weeks on the website.

The band had been on a group hiatus since 2022 while members completed South Korea’s mandatory military service. All seven members were discharged last year, after which BTS confirmed plans for a spring 2026 comeback.
