A businessman was publicly beaten by goons in broad daylight in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar area just 10 days before his wedding, leaving the entire family traumatised. According to reports, a group of miscreants attacked the family over a dispute related to gym ownership, stripping the groom-to-be naked and physically assaulting him on the street. The father and mother were also reportedly molested while trying to protect their son.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of January 2. Local thug Satish Yadav, alias Pintu, along with his associates, carried out the attack. Following the assault, the groom and his elder brother are reportedly missing and have not been responding to calls from police or relatives.

The mother, speaking to the media, expressed her anguish over the ordeal, saying her son was stripped naked in public just ten days before his wedding and questioned the immense pressure and humiliation he faced, equating it to the trauma of rape. She also alleged that the family had been subjected to threats over a long period, reportedly backed by local Hindutva organisation leader Omkar Yadav.
The attack has raised serious concerns about law and order in the national capital. Although police have initiated an investigation, other family members have reportedly left the area due to fear. Witnesses claim that Delhi Police personnel were present during the attack but did not intervene.
The incident has also triggered political controversy. Delhi is governed by the BJP across the Municipal Corporation, the Union Territory, and the Centre, often referred to as a “triple engine” government. Congress leaders have questioned how such an incident could take place in the heart of the capital under this administration.

Delhi Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit described the incident as deeply disturbing, saying it highlights the gradual weakening of the Delhi Police. He criticised the force for prioritising VIP security over general law and order, noting that such negligence is apparent in cases like this.
