Kangra is one of the regions in Himachal Pradesh and northern India where tourists go for trekking. This ban has been imposed there.

Kangra's Deputy Commissioner has stated that trekking-related instructions have been issued at various times, keeping tourists' safety in mind. Weather conditions there have been forecast to be stormy. For this reason, the administration has made this decision keeping tourists' safety in mind. A complete ban has been imposed on trekking at altitudes above 3000 meters. Officials have also stated that this ban will remain in effect until further notice.

However, it has been announced that this directive does not apply to the State and National Disaster Response Force, McLeod Ganj Mountaineering Center, and police rescue teams.

Incidentally, permission is required for trekking on the Kareri, Triund and Adi Himani Chamunda routes. Tourists need to obtain this permission from the office of the Kangra Police Superintendent.

According to PTI sources, just a few days ago, four tourists from Delhi had gone trekking in Kangra. They lost their way while going to Triund. Later, police rescued them. Along with this, snowfall has begun in the high mountainous areas of Himachal Pradesh. In this situation, to ensure that tourists do not face any danger while going trekking there, a ban has now been imposed.
