Revisiting a classic question
On November 16, in the ‘chain reaction question session’, Manika was asked this interesting question: “In the 1994 Miss Universe finale, Miss Sushmita Sen from India was asked, 'What for you is the essence of being a woman?' That is my question for you.”
What did Manika answer?
Manika began her answer by referring to Sushmita Sen’s answer, mentioning how simple and true it sounded- “Being a woman is about the ability to nurture a life, to nurture every single thing around you.”
Manika added her point, keeping in mind the timelessness of Sushmita's answer. She said, " As women, we are often seen by society in certain roles. However, I want women to see themselves as a person, as a human. Yes, we have the ability to nurture. Yes, we have the ability to create life, and not just create life, but actually beautify every single thing around us. That is the essence of being a woman: the ability to not just beautify but embrace and amplify the beauty of every single thing around us. Being a woman is being infinite, and that is the essence of being a woman."

Fashion statement on stage
And then, of course, there was Manika, who did not disappoint in her choice of outfits, too. In a look, she wore a stunning Indian outfit designed by Rajdeep Ranawat, which was in darker shades of black and navy blue. The choli came with golden-silver mirror work, while the lehenga showcased intricate dark brocade details. She accessorised perfectly with a richly embroidered navy jacket featuring floral motifs with mirror work, pulling off elegance and traditional charm in equal measure.
