Jio Hotstar unvails 2026 South Indian slate, signs Rs 4,000 crore investment LOI

Jio Hotstar has recently joined hands with the South Indian entertainment industry through an elite launch event held in Chennai, where the platform signed a letter of intent with the Government of Tamil Nadu. As part of this major regional push Jio Hotstar has committed to investing Rs 4,000 crore over the next five years to uplift regional content, creators and production infrastructure. The core agenda behind this collaboration is to strengthen regional storytelling and support writers, filmmakers and digital creators through workshops, mentorship programs and writing labs.

A diverse lineup unfolds under Jio Hotstar South Unbound

As a thoughtful and innovative beginning, Jio Hotstar announced a strong lineup of South Indian movies and shows across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam that will release in 2026 under the banner Jio Hotstar South Unbound. The slate brings together films, series and reality shows, offering a rich mix of narratives across all four languages.

Jio Hotstar South’s checklist for the brand new year 2026

In Tamil, the platform is set to release Bigg Boss Tamil hosted by Vijay Sethupathi, Good Wife Season 2 with Priyamani, LBW Love Beyond Wicket featuring Vikranth, Lucky The Superstar with GV Prakash, Resort with Vijay Kumar Rajendran, Heartbeat Season 3 and Lingam starring Kathir. The Tamil slate also includes Love Always and Kaattaan with Vijay Sethupathi and Milind Soman.

In Telugu, viewers will get Bigg Boss Telugu hosted by Nagarjuna, Vikram on Duty, Varam, Batchmates, Save The Tiger Season 3, Mad for Each Other and Roadies.

In Malayalam, the lineup features Bigg Boss Malayalam hosted by Mohanlal, Kerala Crime Files Season 3, Secret Stories Roslin, Anali, 1000 Babies Season 2 and Pharma with Nivin Pauly.

In Kannada, Bigg Boss Kannada hosted by Kichcha Sudeepa headlines the slate.

A treat awaits South Indian content lovers as a fresh slate of releases gears up to hit Jio Hotstar soon allowing audiences to watch their regional stories get amplified and celebrated on a national streaming platform.
